Polly only started playing at the beginning of the year and has made fantastic progress. She had achieved a handicap of 36 so was able to enter the Ladies Championship and won the Handicap Cup. Her handicap went down to 29.

She also won the Junior Girls Most Improved Player.

l On Tuesday Clarkson presented a cheque for £4,500.50 to the Papworth Hospital Charity from the Lynn Ladies Section.

The main part of the money came from the club captain and the Ladies AM-AM which was held in September.

The Ladies also held fund raising events and competitions throughout the year. The Lady Captain said she was thrilled with the amount that had been donated and was very grateful for all the hard work that was put in.

Papworth was chosen as many people in Norfolk and Cambridgeshire have benefited from being treated there including her son, who had open heart surgery.

Papworth representative Megan Wisbey (with Clarkson, above) said the money will go towards research and continuous improvements.
