The first ladies sailing session started in glorious conditions at Snettisham Beach Sailing Club.

The popular sessions, begun in 2013, are run during the week, to fit in with school hours.

The sessions began with a single six-week course, but as the word spread about sailing being a fun way of keeping fit, meeting new people and getting out amongst nature, the demand has increased.

Now offered are six separate courses, run on Monday and Friday mornings and led by chief instructor Jane Leet. They are suitable for complete beginners and the course fee of £90 includes use of boats and all necessary equipment.

The original group of participants enjoyed themselves so much that they have become involved in club racing, acting as crews and helms and have asked for more advanced coaching. If you already have some experience, a ladies ‘introduction to racing’ course and sessions on the sea, tide permitting, will start.

SBSC is an RYA recognised training establishment and Volvo Champion Club and offers courses from April to October for adults and children aged 8 and over.

Full details of all training courses, course booking forms and membership information are available on the website: www.snet beach.co.uk and click on the training section.
