Walpole St Andrew runner Matt Pyatt travelled to RAF Honington near Bury St Edmunds on Wednesday to take part in the 22nd annual 10k.
The race incorporates the RAF championships but is open to civilians as well. He ran a personal best of 12 seconds in a time of 33-43 to finish seventh overall and first civilian.
He travelled there with his Lynn parkrun friend Jane Ashby of Ryston Runners (pictured together) who showed how consistent she is over the distance running two seconds faster than the previous outing to finish 136th out of the 183 finishers in 52-10.
Pyatt ran a PB of 16 minutes and 9 seconds at the weekly parkrun 5k event held at the Walks. This knocked seven seconds off his previous best and broke his club’s Hunts AC senior male record by five seconds.
