IBA Ltd KLTTA week 14

There was no action in the IBA King’s Lynn Table Tennis League this week but that left room for the annual Christmas Doubles competition.

With each pair playing each other over nine games the losing semi-finalists were Steve Barrett and Alex Bragg and Leigh McDonald/Jeff Chung.

That left Rob Rix/Danny Vertigan against Alan Jones/Mike Cooper to contest the final. Rix and Vertigan held their nerve to become worthy champions.

There were three matches in the Pegg Scaffolding Handicap Cup with Premier league Heacham beating Division 1 Swaffham Terriers 466-441.

The all-Premier clash between Wasps and Wisbech Hawks was a close-run affair with Hawks just hanging on for a 449-441 win.

Division 1 side Pauls Driving School made the most of their handicaps to defeat Premier league high flyers Wisbech Wizards 488-444. Steve Hunt managed a good win against Grant Brighty to help the cause.

The Lynn Table Tennis Championships will be held at Lynnsport on Saturday, January 30 and Sunday, January 31. Entries or enquiries please to Graham Rogerson.
