Ryston Runner Che Plant, in his first race on British soil for a few months, competed for the RAF in the Brooks Fleet Half Marathon and clocked 1:20:39 for 75th place overall at the weekend.
Heather Beattie ran a 2 minutes 4 seconds personal best of 89:12.
Second claimer Danny Rock was fourth in the Stowmarket Half Marathon in 77:21, a PB by 1.23 seconds, having just been unable to hold on to his early third place.
Three Ryston Runners completed the Coltishall Jaguars Mad March Hare 10K. Neil Stapleton and Dan Pratt finished within less than half a minute of each other, 34th in 41:20 and 41st in 41:49 respectively. Lorena Latisaite was not far behind, 51st in 42:47, sixth female finisher.
Kevin Howlett completed the LDWA Daffodil Dawdle event, over a new course from Stradbroke, in 4 hours 35 minutes. These events are essentially non-competitive but provide good quality training.
The previous weekend Ryston member Phil Twite was, in his own words, “narrowly pipped by 2,573 other runners” in the Barcelona Marathon in 3:19:15.
Julie Barrow ran a PB in the Mad March Hare 10K but was omitted from the official results list. Her unofficial time was 59:38, her first sub-hour for the distance by 34 secs.
l The new Three Counties Running Club was out in force again at the Lynn park run 5K. The club welcomes new members and organises training runs in Downham.
