Ryston Runner Thea Howlett finished the year in fine style in the South of England Combined Events Indoor Championship at Lee Valley.
Thea recently stepped up her already busy training schedule to prepare for the event.
In a strong field of almost 40 competitors, and as a first year under 15, she was in her usual fine form and improved her performances in most of the events.
She gained PBs in 60m hurdles (10.32), High Jump 1m 41, Shot Putt (7m42), and Long Jump (4m72) and took third place in the 800m which increased her overall points seeing her finish in a well-deserved sixth place against some tough competition.
Things are looking good for her for next season, when she will be competing with some fine experience under her belt.
Also competing at Lee Valley were Holly Chen and Naomi Darkins in the U17 Girls age group, and performed well considering it was the highest level of competition either of them has taken part in during their athletics careers. Naomi achieved five out of five PB’s including an impressive High Jump of 1m 42. Holly ran a particularly impressive 800m to finish off the busy day.
