West’s 3rd’s were able to double the celebrations as they stormed to an 81-24 win as they hosted Norwich in the semi-final of the Norfolk Salver.
At first glance Norwich looked to have the edge with a much more youthful squad.
However, West’s wider mix of young and more experienced players shone through as they sped to an early 22-5 lead with four tries in the first quarter.
This set the tone for the rest of the match with some impressive attacking phases, with the half back combo of Kevin Reeve and Darren Clarke orchestrating proceedings.
The team kept the ball alive effectively during the tackle and Norwich struggled to match the pace of West’s play.
Two slicing bursts from Hayden Revell and Charlie Armitt saw West end the half with a 32-5 advantage.
The promising Zak Massingham completed a well-deserved hat-trick, before Revell notched up his brace of tries.
Ashton Towler powered across the line after displaying some pure speed out wide.
Other scorers included Reeve, Clarke, Neil Langley, Ricky Nicholls, Mark Dawson, Reggie Dunn, George McEwan and Jack Slingsby (2).
West will now face Diss 3rds in the final at Holt on May 6.
