Gallow Ladies ‘B’ Fakenham bowls team played their first home match of their County Triples League campaign, against Woodlands ‘B’.

The result was a resounding win 8 points to 0 for Gallow; quite a turnaround after a heavy defeat by the same team in the Egham Trophy earlier in the season.

Gallow skips: Edna Hill 14-8, Pat Wright 17-4, Kathy Shepherd 14-5, Jo Ashmore 16-12.

The team played at Roundwood, against their ‘A’ team, and recorded another comprehensive 6-3 points win.

Skips: Jo Ashmore 19-7, Shannon Tucker 16-7, Edna Hill 10-11, Helen Hodson 8-18.

A special mention for Shannon who, at just 14 years old, led the block to a good win in her first match as skip.

The ‘A’ team played at Norfolk Bowling Club against their ‘B’ team. They made a confident start but it was short lived and at the end of the match only one block, skipped by Sandra Burlingham, scored any points in a 7.5-0-5 loss.

Fortunately it was a totally different scenario at Browston Hall, near Yarmouth, on Saturday. All blocks gained momentum as the match progressed and ended with a 7-1 win.

Gallow skips: Coralie Bell 18-9, Mollie Bowyer 18-7, Sandra Burlingham 16-8, Louise Hannant 7-17.
