The Ryston Runners Willis sisters had a great day at Bury St Edmunds in the Eastern Young Athletics League.

Meg Willis ran a new pb in the 800m (2.49.7) as well as a new best in long jump, 3.74 metres.

Her sister Kate ran a new best time in 1500m in 5 minutes 18.2 seconds to take second, a new under 13 girls club record by four seconds in horrible conditions.

Mackenzie Pilkington and Robert MacQueen continued their great season performing well in 100, 200 and Long Jump in a competitive field. Annie Rooks threw well in Javelin as well as coming third in a wet 1500m.

Meanwhile, a few members of Ryston Runners AC tackled a midweek 5K road race last week.

Callum Stanforth marked the final race of the Wroxham 5K series with a PB time of 16:04, which saw him home in fifth place overall.

Gareth Hunt, in only his second road race, also PB’d, placing 61st in 18:40. Barry Smith ran 90 seconds faster than in the same race last month, continuing his return from injury, to clock 21:47 for 185th place/15th in age group.
