West Norfolk Swimming Club made the long trek to Grantham for the Anglian League Final.

This was a fiercely contested event, featuring opposition from Boston A and B teams, St Ives, Thetford and Wisbech. West Norfolk fielded an experienced team, led by captains Rebecca Baxter and Samuel Chandler, both of whom put in solid performances.

The customary cheery team spirit was in evidence, along with lively support from family members.

Sophie Empson added her own touch of sparkle, to record West Norfolk’s only win on the night, with a dazzling swim in the 15/under 100m breaststroke. Robert Addis can always be relied upon to fight stroke for stroke, coming a very creditable second in the 200m individual medley.

West Norfolk finished in fifth place, with Boston A the winners to take the title for 2014. Many thanks go to all poolside helpers, officials and hardworking coaching staff.
