Since moving from the local leisure centre to its own premises at Plowright Place a year ago, Swaffham Kickboxing Academy has gone from strength to strength.
The club has grown in numbers with students ranging from 7 years to 45-plus, with all levels from beginners to black belts. All are training for different reasons: fitness, belts or competitions. Over the last year several gradings have been held with those taking part successfully receiving their belts.
Most recently two students competed in a full contact show at C.K.A in Stowmarket. Both fighters showed skill, fitness and strength, with Julian Zalums winning his fight in the second round, due to a stoppage after three knock-downs. Tautvydas Kirvaitis went the three rounds, and won by points decision.
The club has also benefited from sponsor Necton Windmill, and help from Silver Scaffold, CP Tree Services and A1 Motors.
