On Sunday Eagles Golf Club at Tilney All Saints continued their run in the Cullington Cup which is one of the major fixtures on the Norfolk Golf Union list.

Having excelled in the previous round by beating favourites Costessey Park GC, who were winners for the previous three years, they faced a really strong team from Richmond Park GC in the quarter-final.

Again Eagles were the vast underdogs as never in the history of the club have they got past this stage. The weather conditions were really bad with high winds and rain. After the first 72 holes played in the morning session Eagles held on to a slender lead of three holes.

Into the afternoon the scores were very close in every group but at the end Eagles ran out winners by four holes overall and now progress into the semi to play Thetford GC at Barnham Broom GC.

Team, four pairs: Geoff Chant (captain) and Colin Pearson, Colin Fox/Conor Murray, Peter Hobden/Peter Ellis, and Jason Nichols/Darrell Watkin.
