Topspynn bag King’s Lynn league title despite collapse to Scaffolding

IBA Ltd KLTTA week 32

Topspynn are IBA Premier League champions despite losing 6-4 to Pegg Scaffolding.

Wayne Mason was unbeaten and Martin Skipper and Johnny Reavell added a win each with Ross and Karl Brown responding with two wins each for Topspynn.

John Blyth led Ziggys to second place with a maximum in their 7-3 win against Wisbech Hawks. Craig Pack had a good win against Allan Nicholls and Graham Pack followed suit with a good win against Steve Barrett.

Wisbech Wizards held onto third place after a draw against Heacham. Brett Heppenstall was unbeaten and Alan Ashberry added two wins with James Patterson, Aaron Howell and David Woolley responding for Heacham.

St. James had Serafim Melo unbeaten and with wins from Owen Turner and Alan Jones they proved too strong for Wasps. Steve Goodale and Steve Mason beat Jones but the match finished 8-2.

Wisbech finished in bottom spot despite a good performance against Avengers.

Jerry Irving had wins against Don Dixon and Jim Defty and Danny Vertigan also beat Defty for their three points. Richard Mussett was top man for Avengers with a well earned maximum.

Jeff Chung, Graham Rogerson and Chris Ely won 8-2 against Blades to ensure Ambit Projects won the league to add to their doubles title.

Alex Bragg responded for Blades with good wins against Ely and Rogerson.

Runcton Holme secured runners-up spot with John Mingay, Nick Osborne and Melvyn Jupp beating Spin Doctors 10-0.

Third placed Heacham A had Mick Ruffles, Leigh McDonald and David Woolley up against Runcton Holme B with only David Lane managing a win against Woolley in a one sided encounter. Swaffham Terriers could only field two players against Greenfingers in their 8-2 defeat.

Gordon Penny and Graham Keeley were unbeaten for Greenfingers but Peter Nunn combined with John Pringle to win the doubles for Swaffham and he also beat Ray Drew.
