More than 80 people attended West Norfolk Athletic Club’s annual meeting with prize and presentation awards evening held at Lynnsport.
Suffolk athlete and regional champion Tania Spurling from England Athletics opened the evening by presenting a Clubmark award for becoming a high quality community sports club.
Wally Oliver stood down as chairman after more than 10 years of service to the club.
Mr Oliver mentioned in his annual speech about the outstanding performances from the club’s athletes in the past year and thanked coaches and support officials in making it another successful year.
Trevor Minns committed himself as the new chairman and told the onlooking budding athletes to “keep up the good work” and welcomed new committee members Hannah Marsters as secretary and Neil Watson as treasurer.
More than 30 junior athletes achieved the prestigious English Schools AA or AAA awards for a wide range of events.

Club Woman: Sally Edwards. Club Man: Ben Collison. Best Veteran: Nicky Neill. Best Overall Performance: Cameron Ross. Christine Moss memorial trophy: Holly Lawrence. Manager’s Trophies, Sportshall: Mason Higby, Lucy & Zara Koenigsberger.
