The Fens Federation raced from Salisbury when eight clubs sent 1,121 birds.

For the second week running, only the Wretton family partnership of Rod and Gloria Ogden & sons got into the Fed’s top 20, taking fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth and 12th. This was the first time this season that they have been out of the first two.

The New King’s Lynn RPC had 10 members send 181 birds to Poole, and were liberated in a ENE wind at 1030hrs. Peacock and Byrne had another very good race by taking the first three positions.

Their Willy Beckett Gaveart cock bird won for the second week, and took 4hrs 9 mins to fly 175 miles, winning 1st pools plus the nom; 2nd pools went to the Manning boys.

Result: 1, 2, 3 Kim Peacock & Bernie Byrne, 1235, 1189 (two birds); 4 Manning Brothers & Son, 1172; 5, 6 Pete & Dave Ellwood, 1168, 1162.

Lynn NRFC had eight members send 97 birds to Whitley Bay. Her Majesty the Queen had three birds in the top six. The Queen’s winner took 3hrs 51 mins to fly 173 miles.

Result: 1, 5, 6 Her Majesty the Queen, 1316, 1268 1266; 2 Riches & Anderson, 1299; 3 Reg Madder, 1297; 4 John Purcell & Sam Denton, 1287.

Wereham had eight members send 75 birds to Poole. First win in the club for Barroway Drove’s Rodney Cochrane, when his Vandenheede x De Backer took 4hrs to fly 164 miles.

Result: 1, 3 Rodney Cochrane, 1206, 1197; 2 Paul King & Jim & Wendy Cook, 1203; 4, 5 Billy Mellett, 1194 1185; 6 Shaun Ewing, 1181.

Gaywood FC raced from Poole. The first three positions were taken by Rod and Gloria Ogden & sons, with their Janssens. Their winner took 4hrs 4 mins to fly 166 miles.

Result: 1, 2, 3 Rod & Gloria Ogden & Sons, 1202, 1194 (two birds); 4, 5, 6 George & Graham Cook & G/Sons, 1132, 1106, 1054.

Clenchwarton Victory raced from Poole. The top Norfolk partnership of Rod and Gloria Ogden & sons won the red card and took 4hrs 8 mins to fly 166 miles.

Result: 1 Ogden & Sons, 1178; 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 Ken Jolly, 1150, 1149, 1148 (three birds).
