At Springside, the roach and rudd have been the bigger feeders during the last seven days.
Quality roach and rudd to nearly 1lb have been showing to anglers whilst fishing the waggler, hard bottom and then up in the water has seen many quality catches recorded. Maggot and caster have been the key baits used.
Carp to 8lb have continued to feed steadily throughout the week when being offered a yellow bait when using the method feeder.
Tench to 4lb have also featured in reported catches, yellow baits also working in finding the tench in the margin swims.
Shepherd’s Lake: Youngsters Joey and Bobby Neal found the carp feeding during an after school session.
The brothers caught their fish moments apart whilst using carp tactics when offering boillies on the hook. Joey, aged 8, is pictured with a mirror carp to 5lb 10oz and Bobby, 11, with a common carp of 6lb 6oz.
Plenty of the smaller carp are showing on lighter method feeders and scaled down carp set ups, roach and rudd also feed strongly on the pole and whip when using maggot and pinkie.
Shepherd’s Port, Bear Lake. Multiple catches are continuing to be reported, despite the cold winds coming off the sea, the carp to 8lb have not been shy showing on the baits that are being offered. Corn and pellet have been the more successful baits when fishing a method feeder tight to the island.
Pole anglers have also been successful when targeting both the island and in open water.
Queen’s Lake: Despite no show from the big bream, plenty of bream to 4lb and skimmers to 2lb have been showing on the pole when offering maggot or caster as a hook bait, roach and rudd also showing well when targeted on the whip or waggler.
Tottenhill: Bream to 4lb 6oz have been showing on the pole line around the island, carp to 10lb 2oz have shown on the tip when being offered hard pellet and meat. Best baits have been pellet, meat, maggot and corn.
