HOCKWOLD and Methwold Community School pupil Louis Wortley has won the Mark Hines Memorial Trophy.
This trophy has been won previously by the likes of Formula One superstar Lewis Hamilton and is awarded to young go-karting drivers who show commitment, promise and a sense of sportsmanship.
He received this award at the Hunts Kart Club Dinner Dance last Saturday from the competition secretary Daphne Freeman.
Louis also achieved 4th place in the Hoddesdon Kart Club 2011 championship.
Louis (13) said: “I am so pleased to get an award that Lewis Hamilton has won and has his name on – it is a great end to my season in cadets.”

He now has to move up a class and will be taking part in the Junior TKMs.
His parents, Alan and Angela Wortley, are extremely proud of his achievements. Even when things aren’t going well Louis always has a positive attitude. He tries his best and congratulates his rivals.
Louis would like to thank Fenland Trailer Rentals, Wilson Engines and Richard Harding for all their help and support.
