Nelson at the treble as reserves stay top

Peterborough League

Division One

Langtoft Utd 0

King’s Lynn Town Res 5

Nelson Moriera hit a hat-trick as King’s Lynn Town Reserves maintained top spot in the table.

Jack Frohawk and man-of-the-match Luke Biles were also on target as Lynn delivered a five-star display with some slick football.

The young Linnets were sharp in possession and efficient and clinical in the final third, while goalkeeper Jack Johnson wasn’t tested.

Swaffham Town 6

Debenham LC 1

Swaffham Town provided another goal feast for their fans as they hit Debenham LC for six at Shoemakers Lane – thanks to another Joe Jackson hat-trick.

The deadlock was broken in the ninth minute when Jamie Buhlemann powered home a perfectly-weighted Vincent corner.

Vincent doubled Swaffham’s advantage in the 26th minute with a delicate chip from a Jack Redhead pass.

Richard Cornwall headed in number three, although Debenhamdid reply on the stroke of half-time.

Debenham started the second half strongly but soon had the wind taken from their sails when Jackson latched onto a Buhlemann through ball before netting in the 54th minute.

Swaffham goalkeeper Scott Cruickshank pulled off a number of crucial saves to keep his side in control.

Jackson bagged his second in the 69th minute, after Michael Thompson had Ashley St John combined.

The in-form Jackson collected another matchball when he completed his treble with eight minutes left.

Halstead 4

Downham Town 1

Assistant Downham boss Pete Brassett blasted the match officials as his side suffered on the road.

Brassett said: “The turning point came when Halstead were awarded a penalty early in the second half when they were already a goal up.

“It was never a penalty and Ryan Charalambous clearly won the ball.

“We have played worse this season and won.”

Luke Plumb scored Downham’s consolation.
