No-one likes us – we do care
PEOPLE aged 50 and over can look forward to a free morning of tennis coaching thanks to Age Concern West Norfolk.
The event, being held on Tuesday, has been organised by the charity's activity project which aims to give older people the chance to enjoy physical activity, improve their health and meet new people.
A number of special events are planned for the coming weeks alongside the regular programme of activities, including tea dances and exercise classes which take place each week around West Norfolk.
The tennis morning, organised in conjunction with the KES Community Tennis Centre, is being held at King Edward VII School, in Gaywood Road, from 10am to 1pm.
Participants are welcome to turn up with or without rackets for instruction and social tennis.
Age Concern West Norfolk is also running two special interest walks to get people out and about.
The first will be at the Norfolk Ornithology Reserve at Holme Dunes on Wednesday from 10.30am. Walkers will enjoy a guided walk and the opportunity to learn more about the reserve, bird netting and ringing and insect trapping.
The second will be at Oxburgh Hall from 10.30am on Wednesday, June 17. The walk will be lead by a specialist who will brief walkers about the gardens' history and flowers. For more information or to book a place, call 01553 778673.
