Solid performances
for West swimmers
DESPITE the bad weather several West Norfolk swimmers attended the Thetford Dolphins Open Meet last weekend.
Parents and swimmers braved the road conditions to compete at Waterworld, Thetford, which was good race preparation for the Norfolk County Championships being held there in March.
Overall the number of competitors was down but the swimmers had some excellent results with over half of the swims being personal bests on the day and numerous top three placings in all age groups.
In the 9 years age group Ella Farnsworth wasthird in the 50 breast, fifth 50 free, fourth 50 back.
Alice Ireland, first 50 free, third 50 back, 100 IM.
Isabel Overton, first 50 back, 100 IM second 50 fly.
In the 10 years age group Kirsten Williams, eighth in the 50 breast, sixth 50 free, fifth 50 back, 50 fly, 100 IM.
Lauryn Hammond, seventh 50back, ninth 50 fly, eighth100 IM.
Chloe Sorrell was first 50 free, 50 back, third 50 fly, second 100 IM.
In the 11 years age group Adam Warnes, fourth in the 50 back, eighth 50 free.
Cassie Bywater-Haylett was ninth 50 breast, tenth 50 free, ninth 50 back.
Samantha Brain was twelfth 50 breast, thirteenth 50 free, eleventh 50 back.
In the 12 years age group Joe Wells was first in 100 back, 100 fly, 100 IM, 100 breast, 100 free. Kayleigh Venables came seventh 100 free, 100 back, eighth 100 breast.
In the 13 years age group Elise Sorrell was first in the 100 free, 100 back, 100 fly, 100 IM, second 100 breast.
Emma Walton, fourth 100 breast, sixth 100 free, 100 back, 100 IM.
Natalie Warnes, fourth 100 free, 100 IM, sixth 100 breast, fifth 100 back.
Nathan Williams, fourth 100 IM, third 100 breast, fifth 100 free.

In the 14 years age group Nathan Wells was first in the 100 back, 100 fly, 100 free, second 100 breast.
Rebecca Baxter came first 100 breast, second 100 free, 100 back, third 100 IM.
Hannah Janisch, first 100 back, 100 IM, second 100 fly.
Matthew Addis was first 100 breast, second 100 free.
In the 15/Over age group Ryan Sykes was second in the 100 backstroke, 100 fly, 100 IM, 100 breast, 100 free.
Sam Chandler was third 100 breast, 100 free.
