LAST Sunday the Norfolk County stage of the English Bowls Youth Development scheme reached the round-robin finals.

This event is on the Gallow Juniors’ regular programme, a tournament in which they have been quite successful in recent years.

This year was no different, with a large contingent qualifying for the competition.

In the older age group, both Daniel Cawthorne and Curtis Walters reached the semi-finals, but failed to progress further.

Daniel was beaten by Callum Tite but the group was won by Rhys Lloyd.

In the younger age group, Jake Biggs won the group final with some fine shots against strong opposition from Adam Martell.

Third place went to Dean Rudling. Jake will certainly be going to the regional finals at the Chesterton Club in Cambridge, an achievement repeating his success in previous years. There is every chance that some of the other semi-finalists will be at Chesterton due to their high overall scores.
