Sport - Cycling: Prize night for cyclists

LYNN Cycling Club recently held their 80th anniversary buffet and prize presentation at the Masonic Hall.
Over 70 members, past and present, and members of neighbouring clubs attended.
This year the club have had seven team wins in open events and three in East District Cycling Association events.
Catherine Essex was the fastest lady in the EDCA championship 25 for a gold medal.
The evening events for the Tish Leggett trophy went to Gary Rushmore.

Juniors went to William Maslin and second and third to sisters, Stephanie and Molly Hardy.
The open 25 mile Les Spinks and John Bull trophies were collected by Daniel Bloy.
Colin Bunnett was once again the fastest veteran to win the Cliff Cawkwell cup.
The club champion, to qualify for the Len Holmes cup, has to complete distances of 25 miles to 12 hours.
On completing his 12-hour ride, Martin Long established a new club 12-hour record of 267.457 miles, which also makes him the East District Cycling Association 12-hour champion.
Short distance best all-rounder over 10, 25 and 50 miles was Gary Rushmore with an average of 27.959 miles per hour.
New club records were also established for 100 miles, in the EDCA 100 mile for teams of three riders, for Ken Roesner, Kevin Graves and Martin Long, in an aggregate time of 12 hours, 20 minutes and 39 seconds.
In the Norwich ABC 25 mile time trial, Gary Rushmore, Daniel Bloy and Martin Long established a new team record with their aggregate time of 2:42:07.
