Pedlars and Ghosts on Vase trail

FA VASE

BOTH Swaffham and Fakenham set out of the FA Vase trail tomorrow.

And Swaffham’s game against Wisbech Town marks the end of an era with it being the final competitive game to be played at Fenland Park.

Wisbech, who will temporarily play at Outwell Swifts after Saturday, will eventually be moving to a new home and Pedlars boss Mick Simmons said: “Fenland Park has always been a traditional ground.

“I’ve been there with a few different clubs and it won’t be the same after Saturday.

“It’s nice to be involved in the Vase and we’re in a no-lose situation as we’ve been struggling for results recently.”

Swaffham have completed the signing of the much-travelled Trevor Marshall for the clash, with regular shotstopper Matt Hales starting the first of a three-week suspension.

Fakenham, meanwhile, will be hoping to bounce back from their FA Cup exit at the hands of Boston Town, but face a difficult task at Debenham LC.

The Ghosts are without Julian Delicata, Martin Fenwick, Carl Neale and Nicky Tagg.

Joint boss Stuart Woodhouse said: “We’d like to have a good run in the Vase but Debenham LC have made some quality signings and it will be tough.”
