Newly crowned Premier League riders Champion Ulrich Ostergaard will ride for the King’s Lynn Roger Warnes Transport Stars in their final home fixture of the season against Swindon at the Adrian Flux Arena on Wednesday.
Talented Australian Sam Masters was booked to take the place of Vaclav Milik in the team, but he suffered a shoulder injury while racing for his Elite League side Leicester on Monday night as the Lions beat Wolverhampton.
Young Stars manager Dale Allitt, who also is in charge of Peterborough in the Premier League, quickly booked up Panthers rider Ostergaard take a place in the Stars team. The experienced Dane is in great form after taking the PLRC at Sheffield last Sunday.
The meeting will be the last of the season for the Stars, who have fallen short of the Elite League Playoffs.
Stars boss Rob Lyon said: “I had a text from Sam to say he is struggling with his shoulder and wouldn’t be able to ride for us, I spoked with Dale and he acted quickly to book Ulrich after his performance on Sunday at the PLRC.
“It’s going to be our last meeting and I am very disappointed about that, we have fallen short of the target we set at the start of the season. It will be nice to go out and win and that’s what I and the team want to do.”
Gates will open at 6pm on Wednesday with the parade taking place at 7.30pm.
