Henry bags a hat-trick of tries for Under 8s

Under 8s

West Norfolk travelled to North Walsham, where they featured in three games against their hosts.

In their first encounter, a hat-trick of tries from Henry, with one apiece coming from Ria, Riley, Lucas and Joshua saw West lose 8-7.

West’s defence and support play improved in the second game. Keaton opened the scoring and tries from Lucas (2), Riley, Joshua and Henry forced a credible draw.

The improvement continued in the final game of the day.

Strong running and tagging from Matthew helped West go into the second half on level terms.

Extra possession saw West move the ball well and good support play led to a 7-5 victory. Scorers were Riley (2), Lucas (2) and one each from Matthew, Joshua and Keaton.

Under 11s

West Norfolk won their first game against North Walsham 7-0, thanks to a try and conversion from Williams.

North Walsham won the second game 7-5, with Williams scoring again for West.

West came back fighting in their third and final game despite a 12-5 reverse.

Rudd, Lamas, King and McAlister provided good back up, Williams scored the try, while Cross made some good tackles and Dumpleton and Dunn made some strong runs.

West Norfolk, led by captain Jack Clingo, came from behind to secure a draw.

A move involving Archie Proctor and Will Lankfer saw George Lemon score and Jack Trundley convert.

Proctor bagged an unconverted try and, after Ryan Quinlan and Liam McCallum had gone close, Lemon went over for his second try of the afternoon.

West Norfolk 5

A much-changed West Norfolk side registered through Thomas Hitchcock, who was assisted by a good catch from Jackson Booker in the lineout.

Best wishes to Jack, Joshua, Harry and Archie, who were either taken ill or injured during the two games.
