Sport - Rugby: Youngsters end Walsham record
Under 17
Eastern Counties Plate
West Norfolk 45
North Walsham 0
West Norfolk were quicker and more aggressive at the tackle area and this laid the foundation of a comprehensive victory over previously-unbeaten North Walsham.
Alex Hammond opened the scoring after picking up a loose pass and Homes-Darby converted. Great scrummaging near the Walsham line saw Patryk Szlezak turn a half-chance into a try, which Holmes-Darby converted.
Support play and good offloading, with Jake Wilkinson and Lemon allowed more freedom at open side flanker to score tries, Kieran slotting over the conversion.
An intelligent break by Adnaan Tyabji was finished off by Lemon as West went into the interval 33-0 in front.
After the restart, good movement in the backs released Joe Thompsett to use his pace to score and Holmes-Darby converted.
A quick penalty by Dodds asked further question of the North Walsham defence and good handling and pace allowed Thompsett to score his second try.
West will now travel to Woodbridge for the next Eastern Counties Plate game.
MoM was John Lemon.

West Norfolk came from behind to see off Norfolk rivals Norwich at Gatehouse Lane.
After conceding early, Ridgwell drove through a strong Norwich defence from a scrum before offloading to Clift, and then Charalambous, for West’s first try, converted by Thornton.
Thornton added his second, after good work by Sinclair, before further tries from Thornton, Cant, Clift and Skipper followed.
MoM was Josh Cant, while George Bone was awarded the tackle trophy.
