SWAFFHAM moved up to second place after a workmanlike performance against a spirited Mildenhall side.
With other results at the top of the table going their way Swaffham moved up three places to join the promotion race to Eastern Counties Division One.
After a four-week break, Swaffham looked sluggish and passes were regularly missing their targets, giving the visiting side possession they didn’t have to work for.
Swaffham started to contest the breakdown and won a penalty to take the lead.
The home team then ran in two tries in quick succession to take a 13-0 lead.
Mildenhall replied with a penalty and the first half ended with Swaffham 13-3 ahead.
In the second half the Swaffham pack began to take control.
Mildenhall upped the pace and made good ground eventually being rewarded with a try near the corner. The conversion was successful and the gap closed to 18-10.
It was important that the home side gained the bonus point win, and in the final 20 minutes three more tries were added as the more organised side took control.
