Oakham 36 West Norfolk 10
WEST travelled to Oakham on Sunday for their first match since the holidays. The first few minutes showed a promising start with an early try by West Norfolk.
However, Oakham fought back with West giving away penalties with handling errors.
Oakham went on to score six tries with three conversions.
West made a good show for themselves in the tackles, but seemed to have lost a little fitness over the holiday period.
A late try brought West’s score up but in the end it was not enough.
Try scorers, Henry Flower and Robert Dickens.
Man-of-the-Match:George Sowerby.

West 20 Holt 15
WEST scored almost immediately with a fine try from Turner.
Huy then quickly seized his opportunity to extend West’s lead and put clear daylight between the two teams.
A razor sharp penalty kick by Flux took the ball back deep into the visitor’s territory and despite Holt’s best efforts, the ball made it to Flux, who off-loaded to Ward in full sprint allowing him to accelerate away to make it 15-0 at half-time.
Holt came into the game in the second half and were soon on the scoreboard.
Edris responded by bursting past the Holt defence down the wing for West’s fourth try.
The away team’s persistence was rewarded with two more tries but it was not enough to equalise before the final whistle.
Special mention to Croxford, Howe and Otis for their spirited tackling throughout the match.
MoM: Yousef Edris.
