Last night’s (Wednesday) eagerly-awaited speedway Elite League Sky Sports TV clash between King’s Lynn Stars and champions Poole was called off due to a waterlogged track.

Stars staff led by club boss Keith Chapman did their best but proceedings were postponed just before the scheduled start for the televised meeting after hail, snow and rain fell.

Roger Warnes Transport Stars number one Niels-Kristian Iversen agreed it was the right decision: “I think so. Sky needed a decision within two minutes. At this moment the track looks a bit too slimy to be able to race on.”

Stars promoters were left frustrated after suffering their second Sky rain-off of the season after an earlier Coventry clash was hit by the weather.

Lynn travel to Belle Vue on Monday.
