The King’s Lynn Roger Warnes Transport Stars have a home Sky Sports-televised Elite League meeting with Coventry Bees on Monday.
Coventry will track the likes of former world under 21 champion and Grand Prix rider Krzysztof Kasprzak and current GP and Great Britain star Chris Harris at the Adrian Flux Arena.
The Bees also field Kacper Woryna, who fans will remember from the recent International Challenge against Polish side Wroclaw at Saddlebow Road. Woryna was in the Polish giants’ squad that night.
Last night saw the Stars in home action against Belle Vue. Stars boss Rob Lyon said that if his team matched the performance they showed against Lakeside versus Belle Vue, more league points would follow. The Aces arrived for their first meeting of the season following the postponement of their trip to Wolverhampton on Tuesday.
He said: “Belle Vue also haven’t been traditionally good visitors, but in the past year or so they have strengthened their team and have proved to be difficult opponents. This year will be no different, they have an out and out number one in Matej Zagar and solid back up. Scott Nicholls, Craig Cook and Max Fricke all pose a threat and are capable of scoring points against all of our riders.”
l Stebbings Car Superstore Young Stars number one Tom Stokes will miss the opening fixture at home to Eastbourne next week after the 21-year-old suffered a broken knuckle.
The local racer will have an operation in order to have it pinned, which rules the Spalding-born ace out of the Young Stars’ opener.
Team manager Allitt has moved quickly to book Danny Ayres to ride against the Eagles on Wednesday, April 6.
