Lynn speedway rider Mads Korneliussen will make his first competitive appearance at Scunthorpe on March 24 having been named for the David Howe Testimonial meeting.
The Dane joins British duo Simon Stead and Olly Allen as starters for the opening event, to be staged at the Eddie Wright Raceway this season.
Korneliussen said: “David put it on Twitter that he was having his meeting, so I sent him a message saying if he needs riders then I was more than happy to do it.
“I have been to Scunthorpe, I’ve never ridden in a meeting but I practised with the Danish team.
“I think it was a bit different though because it was in February and it was very frosty.”
Korneliussen has targeted an improvement in home form this season in what will be his third season at the Norfolk Arena.
“I want to improve and have my highest averaged season in the Elite League.
“I need to improve at home. I ride for the best club in the league with the best home track and I struggle sometimes, so I need to get that sorted.”
