Kings Lynn Speedway Young Stars 2010 - Scott Campos

THE Young Stars have completed their starting line-up for the forthcoming speedway season after announcing that Scott Campos will return to the Norfolk Arena for a fourth campaign.

Suffolk-based Campos, 22, becomes the final rider for the Young Stars as they look to improve on a mid-table finish last year.

Returning on an average of 5.27, Campos will start the season at reserve alongside Tom Stokes.

The Young Stars will be led by another returnee in James Cockle, with the 25-year-old stepping up to the number one race jacket for 2012.

Following a serious back injury last year, Adam Lowe has returned to fitness and will take his place in the line-up, as will Jake Knight and Lewis Kerr, who both showed signs of improvement last season. Poole-born Brendan Johnson is one of two new riders included in the Young Stars this year.

The 19-year-old joins the team following rides with the Isle of Wight and Dudley last season.

At number 8 for the Young Stars in 2012 is Lewis Rose who makes the transition from motocross. The Young Stars will launch their National League season with an away trip to current title-holders Scunthorpe on Monday, April 9.

At the Norfolk Arena, the first action for the Young Stars will come just two days later when they take on the USA Future side on Wednesday 11.

The challenge meeting will be part of a four-date tour for the USA U21 World Cup team to prepare for their qualification meeting in Ukraine on April 21.

Young Stars team boss Dale Allitt is pleased with his team and believes the meeting against the USA will prove to be a good challenge for his team before the season kicks off.

Allitt said: “I think we have plenty to look forward to this year with the Young Stars.

“I feel we have a very capable team which will be a match for anyone and it is great to see these lads, who have improved year-on-year, now ready for the next step of the ladder.

“Both Lewis Kerr and Jake Knight are not far away at all from the Premier League in my opinion while we have a team full of riders who can significantly increase their starting average.”

The Lynn Roger Warnes Transport Stars have announced that 2012 season tickets are now available.

An adult season ticket costs £210 (equivalent to £15 per meeting) while a concession one is £168 (equivalent to £12 per meeting), meaning season ticket holders can enjoy their matches for the equivalent of last season’s admission prices.

A season ticket is valid for all 14 official home league fixtures and holders will also receive priority queuing and ticket allocation for all other speedway events.

To order your season ticket, please download the application via the website at: www.klstars.co.uk and return it to: Season Tickets, Norfolk Arena, Saddlebow Road, King’s Lynn, Norfolk, PE34 3AG. Alternatively, they can be purchased in person during office hours but please call Nathan on 01553 771111 to confirm his availability before attending.

The Stars’ season starts on Wednesday, March 21, with a team preview night and seven days later they go into league action against the Eastbourne Eagles. Please note that junior season tickets are no longer available.
