Shortly after securing their first rider for the 2013 National League season, the Lynn Young Stars have agreed a deal to sign Tom Young.
The 21-year-old arrives at the Norfolk Arena on loan from Scunthorpe who have opted not to enter a team in the league this year.
Young had an impressive season for the Saints in 2012 and more than doubled his starting average, which earned him the title of rider of the year at the club. With a 7.38 average, Young will go into the Young Stars team as a heat leader and joins Shane Hazelden who was the club’s first signing for next season.
Young Stars manager Dale Allitt said: “Our thanks go to Scunthorpe promoter Rob Godfrey and Saints manager Stuart Parnaby for making sure this move went ahead.
“I’m looking forward to working with Tom next season. Having put four points on his average last year we feel he is a rider that fits in with what we are trying to do.”
