Sporting Life - Grand East Anglia Run (GEAR)

Hundreds of people pounded the streets of Lynn on Sunday for this year's Grand East Anglia Run (GEAR).

Defending champions Andrew Hennessey and Olivia Walwyn again took the honours in the men's and women's races. Hennessey got round the ten-kilometre route in 31 minutes, 34 seconds, while Walwyn's time was 36 minutes, three seconds.

The event is staged every year by West Norfolk Council – and seems to be getting bigger and better, this year attracting more than 1,700 runners including competitors from all over the country, world-class athletes and veteran running legends.

Lynn firm Bespak was again sponsoring the race, which took runners on a tour of the town including London Road, Queen Street, King Street, Boal Street and South Quay.
