Sporting Life - Lynn Bowmen

The Lynn Bowmen held their first club tournament of the summer, an annual event to commemorate Saint George's Day.

Twenty-two members of the club took part, including two youngsters under 12 years and three ladies. The day was fine and bright, but with a stiff breeze blowing across the ground at Walton Highway, which made shooting tricky.

The tournament began at 10am and continued well into the afternoon, culminating in a presentation of medals to winners and runners-up in each section of the event.

Although club membership is full, more info available from club member Barry Shears on shears.bw@tiscali.co.uk

He said: "At the moment we are being inundated by people wanting to experience archery. We really can't handle any more.

"We are a small club of around 40 members but with only limited resources."
