King’s Lynn Young Stars team manager Dale Allitt confirmed rising speedway star Tom Stokes has re-signed for next season on a 6.95 average.

Holbeach racer Stokes, who came back to the sport during mid-2014, joins Midland Development League racer Ryan Kinsley in being announced for next year’s National League side; while another rider is soon to follow.

Allitt said: “Next year he is looking to get into the Premier League and into Elite League Fast Track.

“He has put almost two points on his average. I have no doubt he will be riding at a higher level.

“Tom is one of our brightest talents coming through the system. He came back to the sport with great form and I am confident he will continue and improve next season.

“It’s great that we have started our team building early on and having Tom in the team is a real boost.”

n The Norfolk Arena has been awarded the prestigious track of the year accolade at the sport’s annual meeting last weekend.

The award was voted for by referees who visited the track this year and it highlights the work that club owner Keith Chapman and his track staff carry out on a weekly basis.

n TV pundits Kelvin Tatum and Nigel Pearson’s tour ‘Tatum and Pearson Live!’ will visit Lynn on Friday, February 27; doors 7pm.
