Too inconsistent to win the title

LINNETS: So it's five games on since the destruction of Team Bath.

I posted after that game that we had at last stumbled upon a formation that suited us.

I said that it now gave us the platform to go on and storm this league in a manner that we had been threatening to all season.

Two decent new siginings in Bains and Hoyte...everything in place....no excuses and I'd be back in five games to see what gives.

So what have we seen? The same infuriating inconsistencies that have been undermining the campaign all season.

The same chopping and changing of personnel, the same poor tactical substitutions, the lack of professionalism late on in games.

Webb has learnt nothing all in his time with us as we stumble from game to game.

There has been no real game plan and just hope that the decent players in the squad can pull us through.

Draw at home to Hitchin not good enough, draw at Bromsgrove, not good enough and now a draw after being 2-0 up. Include a semi-final defeat which others described as simply disgraceful.

We now have to win the Team Bath game to make up points and even that might not be good enough. How anyone can back Webb at the moment I don't know. We're not top, we're in the play offs and that is not good enough.

How anyone can see anything in Webb's style of play and general abilities as a manager to see any long term success I'd like them to explain it.

When can I get my ticket for the play-offs? Ten men or not that's two games we've let a lead slip late on in succession. We don't deserve to win the title.

Emotions are running high but I can't understand the panic and defeatism I'm reading on this forum.

We still have a very good chance of winning the championship. Team Bath's recent form doesn't suggest that they are going to win all their remaining games (they still have to play Halesowen, Chippenham and us).

Things could look very different after the Easter weekend.

Berlin Linnet (Linnets forum)

Well said Berlin. We still have as much chance as Team Tax and Halesowen of winning the league.

I believe some people want us to fail as WHEN we go up they'll have nothing to moan about.
