THE Lynn Money Centre Stars will be looking for a quickfire league double tonight (4) when they host Birmingham Brummies at the Norfolk Arena.
Rob Lyon's men go into the meeting looking for revenge against the Brummies, who inflicted an embarrassing Premier Trophy home defeat upon them earlier in the season.

The Stars have picked up form since the teams last did battle in West Nofolk and know that victory will boost their title aspirations.

The Stars will be at full strength but the Brummies have hit injury problems of late with Jason Lyons, Adam Roynan and Jack Hargreaves all on the treatment table.

Birmingham boss Graham Drury has moved quickly to keep his team strong and Kyle Legault returns to the team full time in Roynan's place.

Drury has also secured the services of ex-Lynn rider James Brundle as a replacement for Hargreaves and will operate rider replacement for the sidelined Jason Lyons, leaving every single member of the Birmingham team eligible to race in his programmed rides.

Stars team boss Rob Lyon said: "Birmingham always perform well at Lynn and with Graham's choice of Brundle as a guest he has pulled a masterstroke.

"The boys are well up for getting payback after our home defeat back in May so we should see some good hard racing with us on the right end of the race results."

The Stars will complete a busy few days with a trip to the Reading Racers on Monday night.

Stars: 1 Kevin Doolan 10.53, 2 Shaun Tacey 6.88, 3 Tomas Topinka 7.71, 4 Simon Lambert 5.54, 5 Rusty Harrison 5.91, 6 John Oliver 4.64, 7 Kozza Smith 3.27.

Birmingham: 1 Jason Lyons R/R 10.28, 2 Lee Smart 6.59, 3 Kyle Legault 8.20, 4 James Brundle 5.71, 5 Craig Watson 6.48, 6 Adam Lowe 3.00, 7 James Birkenshaw 4.00.

PREMIER LEAGUE

Birmingham 38 Lynn 54

THE Stars clinched their third away win of their Premier League campaign to move second in the table and hot on the heels of leaders Somerset.

Lynn were once again inspired by the in-form Kevin Doolan, who powered his way to a 15-point maximum at Perry Barr.

Doolan equalled the Perry Barr track record in Heat 5, in what was his first-ever visit to the track.

Team boss Rob Lyon said: "On paper Birmingham's guests looked strong, but our boys were really up for it and everyone chipped in.

"We were on the gas from the first heat and I think Birmingham losing James Birkenshaw in the opening race dented their confidence and team spirit even more.

"I think us beating Birmingham has really cat among the pigeons and teams will now look at us as serious title contenders."

Birmingham reserve James Birkenhshaw was rushed to hospital, leaving him a doubt for tonight's return clash, after an incident-packed opening race, which saw Kozza Smith excluded for the Stars.

But the Stars used Birkenshaw's absence to their advantage to pile on the misery for the host club.

All of the team provided some useful points, while former Lynn rider Chris Mills endured a miserable night as a guest for the hosts, picking up a paid three from just four rides.
