TONIGHT'S Premier Trophy clash against the Birmingham Brummies at the Norfolk Arena (7.30pm), is a no-nonsense affair for the Lynn Money Centre Stars.
Team manager Rob Lyon doesn't believe that anything will be easy even though the Brummies have been hit early in the season with numerous injuries.

He said: "Nothing can be taken for granted, our team has had a bit of a break over the past two weeks.

"We must come back with all guns blazing if we are going to qualify top of our trophy group and make it through to the semi finals."

Speedway's magnificent return to Birmingham last season seems set to be followed by another great year for the club who are already sitting top of the Premier Trophy group despite their recent spate of injuries.

They have got there by keeping a 100 per cent home record and also picking an away win up at Mildenhall last Sunday.

The Brummies are managed by Graham Drury, who has had his fair share of disagreements with the Stars management in the past few seasons.

Promoter Jonathan Chapman said: "One thing that can't be denied is his ability to put a good team out on the track no matter what circumstances he is in.

"That is proved once again this Friday with what looks like a good team that will battle hard against the Stars."

Jason Lyons is set to return from a minor injury, along with James Birkenshaw.

They will though be missing Kyle Legault who has a broken femur, for which they will be using R/R, and Phil Morris who has internal injuries, and for him they will be using Ben Barker as a guest.

A busy weekend sees the Stars at Workington tomorrow and Glasgow on Sunday in their opening fixtures of the Premier League season.

Stars: 1 Tomas Topinka (c) 9.24, 2 Shaun Tacey 5.44, 3 Kevin Doolan 8.40, 4 Kozza Smith 5.00, 5 Rusty Harrison 6.08, 6 John Oliver 4.22, 7 Simon Lambert 3.00.

Birmingham: 1 R/R 8.20, 2 Jamie Birkenshaw 4.80, 3 Jason Lyons (c) 9.38, 4 Adam Roynan 6.21, 5 Ben Barker (G) 5.88, 6 Jack Hargreaves 3.00, 7 Lee Smart 4.00.
