FIVE out of the seven riders racing for the Glasgow Tigers at Lynn's Saddlebow Road tonight are native from Australia.
They'll be going up against another four Australians who race for the Lynn Money Centre Stars team at the Norfolk Arena.

Shane Parker is the most famous Aussie riding for the Tigers, who once wore the racing bib of the Lynn Knights and Stars and still has many fans at the club.

He is partnered at the top by Robert Ksiezak, a young rider who has improved immensely over recent seasons and has had plenty of Elite League experience this year.

Trent Leverington is an established campaigner and rides at number 5.

Two exciting new Australian prospects, Mitchell Davey and Josh Grajczonek, who both rode at Lynn earlier this season in the Ashley Jones Memorial Meeting, will give the Lynn reserve pairing of Kozza Smith and John Oliver a real run for their money.

Team manager, Rob Lyon, feels his team will face a spirited charge from the Tigers.

He said: "Having five Australians in the team will boost everybody's morale.

"They are all great guys that race hard. None of them will ever give up because they didn't travel halfway around the world to do that.

"King's Lynn is one of Shane Parker's favourite tracks, and he has a great on-track rivalry with Tomas Topinka and I'd imagine they will have some great races."

The Money Centre Stars sit in fourth place in the Premier League table and a win will move them into third.

With only two away matches remaining it is now looking unlikely the Stars will finish at the top of the 2008 Premier League table.

But they hope they can qualify for a place in the play-offs for promotion into the Elite League by finishing within the top four.

Tonight is the third summer theme night of August, with fans encouraged to join in the Rock Star theme.

Parade starts at 7.30pm at the Norfolk Arena.

Stars: 1 Kevin Doolan 10.12, 2 Shaun Tacey 6.76, 3 Tomas Topinka 9.05, 4 Simon Lambert 5.43, 5 Rusty Harrison 6.47, 6 John Oliver 4.71, 7 Kozza Smith 4.73.

Glasgow: 1 Robert Ksiezak 6.35, 2 Lee Dicken 4.33, 3 Shane Parker 8.67, 4 Anders Andersen 4.27, 5 Trent Leverington (c) 5.91, 6 Mitchell Davey 3.00, 7 Josh Grajczonek 3.93.
