Wednesday's Lynn Money Centre Stars KO Cup tie second leg with Reading was postponed due to heavy rain.
The fixture has been re-arranged for next Wednesday, which means the Redcar meeting due for that night will be re-arranged, with the date to be confirmed.

Next for Lynn are Premier League trips to Edinburgh tonight and Berwick tomorrow.

Promoter Jonathan Chapman said: "If we get the right weather and we can prepare the track almost perfectly, we'll have a chance in the KO Cup second leg.

"We're just praying for some decent weather, and it's getting to the point we and the public are getting worn down by it.

"In the league we're doing okay if you look at the table."

Reading Racers 59 Stars 34

THE Stars' chance of a fourth successive KO Cup hangs in the balance after Kevin Doolan withdrew from the meeting following a crash in his first race.

In the opening heat ex-Lynn rider Chris Mills was sandwiched between Tom Topinka and Simon Lambert in a 4-2 for the hosts.

Easy for Lemon, it was a good race for second, with Mills and Topinka exchanging places a few times before Topinka cleared off.

In the Reserves' race, Danny Warwick fell and hurt his shoulder, and later withdrew from the meeting. In the re-run Kozza Smith led until the last bend when he hit the fence and finished third in a race won by John Oliver.

In heat 3, Doolan clipped Tomas Suchanek and fell badly, then Ulrich Ostergaard rode over Doolan's bike and went through the wire fence. In the re-run Reading got a maximum 5-1.

After Heat 7 Lynn were 28-14 behind, so skipper Tom Topinka took a 15 metre handicap tactical ride, but could only finish third in a Stars 5-2.

The Racers replied with two 5-1s, and after the interval in Heat 12 Kozza Smith fell and retired on lap one.

Following a delay due to an altercation in the pits, Reading got a 4-2 to make it 52-27. Then Rusty Harrison took a 15-metre tactical and was second in a 4-4. The final shared heat saw Mark Lemon beat Topinka and Harrison. Ostergaard was excluded when he took out Harrison.

Reading Racers: Mark Lemon 15, Chris Mills 7+2, Ulrich Ostergaard 11+1, Tomas Suchanek 7+1, Tom P Madsen 7+1, Jamie Smith 12+3, Danny Warwick 0.

Stars: Tomas Topinka 13, Simon Lambert 0, Kevin Doolan 1, Rusty Harrison 9+1, Shaun Tacey 2, John Oliver 5, Kozza Smith 4.

  • Berwick have signed 31-year-old Finnish rider Benny Johansson for the departed Henning Bager.
