Simon Lambert stole the show with a six-ride paid maximum as Lynn demolished league champs Rye House in this Premier Trophy clash on Wednesday.
The Lincolnshire teenager, unbeaten against Mildenhall the previous week, continued his stunning start to the season with a paid-18 total which included wins over the Rockets' big names Chris Neath and Stefen Ekberg.

"He was magnificent, there's no other way to describe it," said team manager Rob Lyon.

Throw in a paid maximum as well for Kevin Doolan and solid scores at the top end of the team and it's no wonder the Money Centre Stars were far too strong for the visitors.

But few on the Norfolk Arena terraces would have predicted the final score after two races when the teams were level at 6-6.

At that stage Neath had stopped Tomas Topinka in the Heat 1 battle of the rival captains, while the reserves' race was also shared after the unlucky John Oliver had bike problems.

Then it all went wrong for Rye House as they conceded a 5-0 in Heat 3 after Tommy Allen retired and then wonder-kid Tai Woffinden crashed out on the third lap when chasing Kevin Doolan.

Lambert's comfortable win over Ekberg in the next was followed by another set-back for the Rockets in Heat 5 when Neath had a tapes exclusion.

Shaun Tacey and Rusty Harrison joined in the fun, both showing a good turn of speed in successive races and it was now something of a rout, especially with Woffinden withdrawing from the meeting with lacerations to his left hand.

There was some relief for Rye House when Neath took Heat 11 in a six-pointer tactical ride ahead of Harrison, and he also stopped Topinka for a second time in Heat 13.

But Lambert continued his amazing run by sharing a 5-1 with Doolan and then getting an extra outing in Heat 14 instead of Oliver, a race he duly won.

Lyon promptly put Lambert out in Heat 15 and the decision was proved right as the teenager held his nerve in a tight first lap before team-mate Kevin Doolan helped keep the visiting pair of Neath and Ekberg at bay.

Another 5-1, and who would have predicted that?

Lynn: Tomas Topinka 9+1 (4 rides), Shaun Tacey 9+2 (4 rides), Kevin Doolan 14+1 (5 rides), Kozza Smith 5+2 (4 rides), Rusty Harrison 7+1 (4 rides), John Oliver 1+1 (3 rides), Simon Lambert 16+2 (6 rides).

Rye House: Chris Neath 13 (5 rides), Luke Bowen 1 (4 rides), Tai Woffinden 0 (1 ride), Tommy Allen 5 (4 rides), Stefen Ekberg 5 (5 rides), Danny Betson 2 (5 rides), Robert Mear 5+3 (7 rides).
