SPEEDWAY: THE LYNN Money Centre Stars have made their first signing for the 2009 season, snapping up 16-year-old Australian Darcy Ward who rides for Boston in the Conference League.
Ward made a strong showing in the Pride of the East, winning one of his races and is pictured in action during Wednesday's big meeting at the Norfolk Arena.

Lynn co-promoter, Jonathan Chapman, said the club had tracked the prospect for two years, and added: "We see as much potential in him as we saw with Troy Batchelor a few years ago.

"After Wednesday night's showing, he'll be a fantastic asset.

"It was a brilliant night for the club – good crowd, good meeting and the signing of Darcy."

In the Premier League play-offs semi-final first leg next Wednesday, Lynn will host either Rye House or Somerset. If Rye House qualify by beating Newcastle tonight, the Rockets will visit Lynn.
