SWAFFHAM'S Sacred Heart Convent School is to host a one-week summer school at which wannabe musical theatre stars can learn valuable tips from the experts.
Necton-born Lisa Collier (20) and James Wolstenholme (24), whose stage credits include the Rainbow Live! Tour from the children's TV series Rainbow, will be running the Back to Broadway musical theatre summer school in Swaffham.

The idea has been born from the popularity of TV shows such as Any Dream Will Do and I'd Do Anything, which have given new impetus to West End musicals.

There will be places for 40 children, aged six to 18, on the course, which will run from Monday, August 18, to Friday, August 22, at the Mangate Street school. The all-in cost is £125.

Lisa and James are members of the top musical theatre group Back to Broadway currently touring the UK performing hit songs from shows including Mamma Mia!, Guys 'n' Dolls, Hairspray, Grease and Les Misérables.

The week will culminate with youngsters performing their own musical revue show in aid of Save the Children. They will also have the chance to appear alongside Back to Broadway when the group visits Norwich Playhouse on Saturday, August 30.

Lisa, a former Litcham High School pupil, said: "The summer school is a wonderful opportunity for youngsters to learn more about musical theatre.

"They will be able to spend a whole week working with others who have the same passion, as well as the chance to appear before a live audience at the end of it."

She trained at Just Dance in Swaffham, Busybodies stage school in Dereham and the Footlights dance centre in Lynn, and went on to take a degree in Musical Theatre and Dance Studies.

Lisa is a fully qualified associate member of the British Association of Teachers of Dancing, in both ballet and tap.
