COUNCILLORS raised concerns about the lack of attendance at parish meetings by the village's borough councillor.
The July meeting was told that Francis Moreau does not attend parish meetings and liaison between him and the parish council is non-existent and of a worry to the parish council.

It appears that several residents have also complained about the response, and it was agreed a letter should be written to the borough council.

Representatives from Centrica and PB Power gave a short presentation about plans to extending Saddlebow Power Station. Questions were welcomed and members of the public were invited to put forward comments/questions as well.

The power station needs to be extended as supply has to be increased to meet customers' requirements which have been greatly extended. It was also pointed out that most of the new building will be hidden by the existing building.

Two members of the public at the meeting were disappointed that invitations were not sent to them to attend the public consultation meeting arranged by Centrica. It was explained that there was a mail drop and the event was also publicised in the paper.

The parish council was asked to think of further ways to give information on issues that affect their parishioners. It was explained that any public information is displayed on the noticeboards, through the quarterly magazine, (though this can be restrictive as only four copies are published a year), and also newspaper reports such as this.

It was stated that the Lynn News carries public notices and would be the most suitable reference point.

The community emergency plan has been completed and the parish council endorsed it. A flood wardens meeting will be arranged in September/October and areas of cover will be confirmed.

It was agreed that two more dog waste bins should be placed in the village. It appears that when these bins are placed in strategic points they are utilised and once again, it must be remembered that large fines can be given to any dog owner who does not pick up their dogs' waste.

The clerk also agreed to write to the borough council to see if they can help with the printing of the newsletter as they do at Magdalen.

The next parish council meeting is on Monday, September 15, at 7.30pm, and all parishioners are welcome to come and have their say.
