POLICE, farmers and British Sugar's Wissington factory have joined forces to improve safety standards on the roads during the rest of the beet campaign.
Officers are carrying out roadside spot checks on vehicles delivering beet to Wissington to check they have been loaded safely.

Hauliers will be warned if they are found to break the rules and could be banned from the site for a time if there is a further breach.
