LINNETS midfielder Mark Camm still has his sights on helping the club achieve their goal of promotion – despite suffering a serious head injury during Lynn's title shoot-out against Team Bath.
Camm was knocked unconscious during the latter stages of the goalless draw at The Walks at the weekend and was rushed to hospital minutes after Saturday's final whistle.

But he was allowed to leave the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and return to his Yorkshire base early on Saturday evening.

Speaking from his home yesterday, Camm said: "The last thing I can recall is arriving at the ground at quarter-past-one and then getting back home late on Saturday night.

"I can't remember anything from the game whatsoever and apparently I asked what the final score was about 20 times on my way home on Saturday.

"This is the most frightening thing I've ever had happen to me in football. I've been signed off work for a week and still feel very tired, but other than that I feel fine."

Camm added: "I'd love to be back playing again on Saturday, but it's out of my hands.

"I'm chomping at the bit to get back as I don't like missing games but I fully understand the situation.

"I'd like to thank everyone at the club and all the fans for their support and best wishes.

"Jimmy Suckling, one of the club's directors, offered to put my mum and dad up in a hotel for the night had I been kept in. It really is appreciated."

A bullish Camm joked: "I definitely want to be back for the trip to Gloucester as I've already had a dream that I win us the title by scoring a 25-yard volley against them."

Camm received lengthy treatment on the pitch after suffering an elbow to the head two minutes from time when challenging for a high ball.
He was eventually helped to the sidelines and was taken to hospital.

Linnets boss Keith Webb said: "We will be guided by medical staff to when Mark Camm can resume playing.

"You never like to see anyone go down like that at any level of football.

"Mark is such a tough competitor, I'm sure he'll be back sooner rather than later."

Webb refused to apportion any of the blame on the Team Bath player involved in the incident.

"I don't think the fella has gone up maliciously but he has led with his elbow.

"Three players collided and Cammy came off worse. You could tell by the way he fell that he was out cold before he even hit the deck."
There is mixed news on Lynn's latest injury bulletin.

On-loan defender Gavin Hoyte is set to miss the remainder of the season with a hamstring problem, which he will have a scan on later this week.
But leading scorer Joe Francis is close to a return, with Webb saying: "Joe was quite close on Saturday, but didn't feel he was quite ready.

"We will wrap the players up in cotton wool during the next fortnight and will only train once this week."

Club captain Mark Warren is also on the mend and set is to play for the Reserves at home to Felixstowe tomorrow night.

The club have revealed that Saturday's home game against Brackley will be Kids-For-A-Quid after the magnificent gate of 2,336 against The Students.

All children accompanied by a full paying adult will be allowed into the game for just £1.

A statement on the club's website said: "A big thank-you from everyone at the club for the fantastic turnout for Saturday's game.

"It was greatly appreciated by everybody from the board downwards.

"As a thanks the club's board of directors have made this Saturday's fixture with Brackley the final Kids-for-a-Quid game of the campaign.
"This fixture is just as big as last weekend's and it's important that we get the same kind of atmosphere inside the ground as we did for the Team Bath game."
