Pupils and staff at Terrington St John primary school dressed as their favourite fictional characters to mark the start of Children’s Book Week on Monday.
All of the school’s 48 pupils took part and some of the costumes included princesses, pirates, Batman, the Cat in the Hat, Spiderman and Where’s Wally.
Deputy headteacher Miss Wendy Arnell said: “Everyone dressed up as their favourite character from a story and spent the day sharing books with one another. The day was thoroughly enjoyed by all and is part of a week of activities promoting a love of reading.”
Children’s Book Week is an annual celebration of reading for pleasure for children and has been running for more than 80 years.
