This half-term, don’t miss the swashbuckling adventure classic packed full of pirates, treasure maps and sea dogs as Treasure Island comes to Magdalen Village Hall.
Creative Arts East are welcoming back LP Creatives theatre company with their autumn tour of Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic, Treasure Island.
A young Jim Hawkins is thrown into a world of treasure and mutiny by the mysterious Billy Bones - a character who refuses to lay down and die.
Jim’s adventures take him on a journey of romance in the shape of Sea-dog Sally, a young tomboy sick of her silver spoon up at the Governor’s house - and also of danger as he meets the nefarious Long John Silver.
Together, with mutiny on the cards and a monkey in the rigging, they sail aboard The Hispaniola to Treasure Island – whereupon they are at the mercy of not only the local tribesmen and the hopping mad Ben Gunn, but also the spooky presence of the dreaded Captain Flint.
Their predicaments lead to high spirits and scary spirits alike – but who will finally get their hands on the treasure?
From the producers of the smash-hit show Fairy Tales of the Unexpected, children, parents and grandparents will be taken on a magical trip into a world of pirates and princesses, as one of the nations favourite children’s novels is brought to life.
Treasure Island will be staged at Magdalen Village Hall on Friday, November 1, at 3.30pm.
Tickets cost £3 and can be booked by calling 07798 613124.
