The Railway Arms in Downham has been given its certificate declaring it CAMRA’S National Cider and Perry Pub of the Year. Pictured, from left, are Andrea Briers, of Camra, Callum Pinches, Lesley Ann Pinches and Ian Pinches, of the Railway Arms and Sarah Newson, Camra, at the presentation.
Mr Pinches said: “We are definitely not a typical pub and we enjoy being different. We have no music, no wide screen sports and absolutely no alco-pops. Instead we have conversation, a second-hand book room, a few old fashioned games, high quality real cider, perry and ale, the odd quiz and in the winter an open fire.” Photo: ADAM FAIRBROTHER MLNF13AF10011
